we also have lost 3/4 of our starting defensive line, and 2 linebackers.
if they don't spend some of that scrill, we might be in trouble.

I don't understand making all these cuts in an uncapped year.

and we get very little in return, essentially nothing, from pep.

Yeah I am really concerned about the Panthers right now. Actually, if we are not able to resign Brayton, we have ZERO of last year's defensive line coming back. I am not overly comfortable with LL, Tank Tyler, Everette Brown, and Charles Johnson as our starting front.
I mean I sort of understand what they are saying about owners trying to save because this is an uncapped year...but I think that is completely unfair to the fans. We are not responsible for the problems between the owners and the players. It should be Richardson's priority to provide us with at least a decent chance to win. Maybe he is just laying low and will snatch up a few free agents. If not, then I will be pretty unhappy.
We need a backup QB now for sure. I still do not really understand why they just did not keep Delhomme. But I guess we do not incur the cap hit. Pennington might be the best back-up option out there....then we probably draft someone way down the line.
We definitely need another receiver also. Antonio Bryant is probably the best option, but there is not telling if we will even try for him.
We might have to get another CB if a team offers a lot for Richard Marshall. I am assuming we sort of would not mind him walking since we only put that second-round tender on him. There are not any really good CBs to pick up, unfortunately.
Lastly, we need at least 1 defensive ends. My guess is that they resign Tyler Brayton, just because he will be affordable and he wants to be there. I would like to see them make a run at Aaron Kampman or maybe try to swing a trade for Osi Ounemyaoroyaoyhadjaj;lfalkdfafelowl from the Giants. He seems disgruntled there and probably would fit well here.
I just hope that we are not like the dang Pittsburgh Pirates or something this year...

Agree...like none. But we did get Wallace Wright...we just had to replace our Tar Heel quota.

Apparently Jake will probably sign on with Cleveland thus collecting double salary since there was no sort of overlap clause in his contract.
